Founded in 1986

Shanghai Pops Orchestra is  currently the only state-owned large-scale pop symphony music performance group in China.The first director and current artistic director is the renowned soprano Zhu Fengbo.

There are many outstanding singers and performers in the orchestra,including famous composer Tu Bahai,famous conductor Meng Jinjin,famous singer Shen Xiaocen,famous electronic organist Pu Qizhang,etc.
