Dragon TV International
Since 2002, Dragon TV International has dedicated itself to reach overseas markets. The channel has presence in the United States, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Africa, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, reaching an overseas audience of over 100 million.
With the diversification of TV transmission techniques, Dragon TV placed emphasis on market expansion via new media platforms. In 2014, the channel parterneredwith Singapore Starhub, and in 2015 authorized international cruise ships to broadcast Dragon TV programs. Since 2016, it focused on access to overseas OTT channelsin Canada, the United Kingdom, France, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and other countries.
Dragon TV International became available on Macau Cable TV in 2007, and on Hong Kong Cable Television (HKCATV) in 2011. In Taiwan market, the channel broadcast in more than 60 selected landmark hotels including the Grand Hotel Taipei. . In Hong Kong, it has also expanded its coverage to 22 hotels since 2014, including Ritz-Carlton and Grand Hyatt
As part of its overseasstrategy, Dragon TV adjusted the layout of its international broadcast, identifying New York, Paris, Sydney and Singapore as four major hubs of urban viewership. Setting New York as the main base of reference and ensuring compatibility with Paris, Sydney and Singapore, the channel customized its program offering in catering to the various viewing times and preferences of these metropolitan cities.
Dragon TV International produced a collection of TV programs designed to promote Chinese culture and encourage exchanges between China and the world, including the cultural programs "Poetry China" and "Bravo China" in 2017,whichbroadcasted on Dragon TV International during prime time, and attracted overseas Chinese audiences. Additionally, Dragon TV International also broadcasted a special docu-show"Master", showcasing the spirit of craftsmen and artisans of various specializations and communicating the cultural essence of China to a wider audience.
