KFM 98.1, the first bilingual music radio for western music in Shanghai made its first appearance on 5 October 2014, becoming the fourth music radio channel under SMG, after Pop Music 101, Love Radio 103.7 and Classics 947. The debut of KFM 98.1 makes Shanghai the only city in China to own four music radio channels which can satiate the appetites of listeners aged 10 to 65. The four channels cover all age groups from all walks of life, and provide a vast variety of songs across all genres ranging from Chinese songs, English songs, pop music to classical music.
KFM 98.1 adopts international approaches in its programming and production. It provides the most hip and happening western pop songs, tracks the latest news of the biggest stars from America and Europe, and reports the hottest trends worldwide.
Every morning from 7 to 10 am, Morning Beat will kick off a new day. It is spiced with a number of fun and intriguing sections such as Nong Gang What, Who’s Social, Pop Quiz and Big Cash Selfie, where the audience will be showered with gifts, as well as up-and-coming songs poised to lead billboards. Upon the heels of Morning Beat, Non-Stop 98 will deliver 98 minutes of great music without being interrupted by advertising. K-GoGo, a three-hour program during rush hours beginning at 4 pm from Monday to Friday, will soothe you after a long and stressful day at work with music and news of the biggest Hollywood stars.
KFM 98.1 broadcasts via Oriental Cable Network on-line platform and FM 98.1. It also broadcasts and interacts with listeners on the social network Archimedes owned by China East Radio.
